Our Mission 
The Mission of the New Haven Adult School CTE  Health & Human Services Career Pathway and Biotechnology Career Pathway is to introduce and prepare adult students for a long-term, progressive career in professions that enhance and protect the health and well-being of all Americans.  
Our Vision
 Students will know the Health & Human Services Academy provides options to help them whether their immediate goal is work or college.
  • Employers, knowing our program provides them with the human talent they need to provide excellent service to their customers, partner with us to ensure students who successfully complete our programs have job opportunities that allow them to continue working towards their next college and/or career goal.
  • College faculty who partner with us to provide opportunities that help accelerate our students obtaining a post-secondary credential.
  • 100% of our students successfully transition to the next phase in their college and/or career goals. 
How We are Accomplishing Our Vision
The following courses help English Language Learners develop vocabulary and language skills for healthcare and science courses:
  1. Healthcare Bridge - Reading, Writing & Technology
  2. Vocabulary for Nursing and Healthcare Careers
  3. Free typing Practice for ESL, HSD & GED students
  4. English for Career Development
Of our current courses, the following will lead to employment in 10 weeks:
  1. Residential & In-Home Care - Caregiver Training
  2. CPR & First Aid for Care Providers
  3. Digital Technology for Caregivers
Of our current courses, the following prepares students for college-level course-work in health & human services:
  1. Health & Science Essentials
  2. College Prep Writing & Technology
  3. Early Childhood Studies Preparatory (At Fremont Adult School)
