GED Test Prep Classes

Fall quarter ends Thursday, November 15, 2018. 

Registration is ongoing, so you can still join the evening classes. 

 

New Haven Adult School is currently offering 2 GED Test Prep classes

  

Mon/Wed  6:00 – 8:30 pm – Science & Math Subjects

Tues/Thurs  5:30 – 8:30 pm  Reasoning through Language Arts & Social Studies

1.) Is the GED the same as a High School Diploma?  A GED is equivalent to a High School Diploma.

  

What is GED short for? General Education Development or General Education Diploma.

 

What does a GED mean?  The GED is a test that shows that you have a level of knowledge equivalent to a high school graduate. The GED is an internationally recognized test.

 

Should I get my GED or High School Diploma? The choice is yours. When you register here at New Haven Adult School, you are actually registering for both. will give you information about both High School Diploma and our GED programs. We can evaluate any High School transcripts with credits that you have already earned so you can make an informed decision about which pathway is better for you.

 

The GED® test covers 4 subjects: Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reasoning Through Language Arts. You can take all 4 together or one at a time at an official GED® test center when you’re ready.

 

 Do I still qualify for financial aid with a GED? Yes.
Is the test timed? Yes.
Is the test online? You take the GED test on a computer at an approved testing site.
Does New Haven Adult School have an approved testing center? No, Fremont Adult School, Hayward Adult School, and Castro Valley Adult School have approved testing centers. 
How do I register for the GED test? Online at GED.com.
How much is each GED test? Approximately $35.
Can I take the GED test in another language? The GED test is available in Spanish.
