GED Frequently Asked Questions
1.) Is the GED the same as a High School Diploma? Yes, A GED is equivalent to a High School Diploma.
2.) Should I get my GED or HSD? It depends on how soon you need your GED or HSD and how many credits you still need to get your HSD. If you need less than 40 credits, a HSD is recommended. If you need more than 40 credits, a GED might be a better option. It also depends on how much time you have and what you are going to do after you get your GED or HSD.
3.) Do I still qualify for financial aid with a GED? Yes.
4.) How many tests are on the GED? 4: Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
5.) Is the test timed? Yes.
6.) Is the test online? Yes, the test is computer-based.
7.) Is NHAS a testing center? No, the closest centers are Fremont, Hayward, or Castro Valley Adult School.
8.) How do I register for the GED test? Online at GED.com.
9.) How much is each GED test? Approximately $35.
10.) Can I take the GED test in another language? The GED test is available in Spanish.
